Sample Forecast AWARE stands for Ag-Weather Applied Research Endeavors. This site is designed for those who are interested in Integrated Pest Management issues. This includes farmers, commercial growers, ag-extension agents, and university/state extension experts.

An output of the interaction between atmospheric scientists and the needs of the agricultural community has been the development of the Insect Migration Risk Forecast (IMRF). The IMRF provides a real-time assessment of current and future insect migration risk probabilities that can be used in a pro-active manner.

With this site we hope to achieve an enhanced dialogue between atmospheric scientists and agricultural leaders with the result being greater understanding of growing season pest migration and improved pest management decisions.

Generally, the focus of this applied research covers the area from the High Plains east to the Appalachian Mountains and northward into southern Canada.
